Speaker 2:12 after dark action. Bring it back one more time. One more time for the fellas.
Speaker 1:Yeah, outside the octagon after dark oto after dark is here and look, let me tell you, man, I'm excited to bring this episode to you guys, whatever number this will be, whether it come out now, no, it's got to come out tomorrow. So, because we're going to talk about bobby knuckles. So the next episode you're going to hear, though, you guys, here's the thing. You guys, you're going to hear an episode from an incredible guest, probably the most fun episode that I've ever done. I really enjoyed doing it. It was incredible. Brad tate, the cut man of the ufc, great guy, great stories. So much fun recording that one before we're getting this one out to you guys.
Speaker 2:Yeah, we talked about absolutely pretty much everything in that episode. Brad tate awesome person.
Speaker 1:We appreciate him coming on for sure if you're a fan of what you're going to hear in that episode, drop a comment. Let us know what you think whenever that one comes out it'll be next friday. I think it went incredible. I think there's no way you shouldn't enjoy the episode personally.
Speaker 2:No, I agree, and one thing that I think that we can agree on for sure about YouTube, not just that episode is that everybody watching needs to drop a like on the video, they need to subscribe, they need to check out prowler pickles, andles and use code O2O10. We're going to get there, I know we're going to go back to it, but I'm just saying that's something we can agree on now.
Speaker 1:First things first. That we have to agree on is the fact that we're two minutes into this podcast and if they never listened before, they still don't know our names. You are right, I'm the host, charleston Payne. To my left, the honorable, admirable co host. None other than man. We need the Bruce Buffer, the one, the only, right now. So bad, I might see what I can do about it. Probably not just because it's going to be very late night editing, but I mean, dude, this guy's incredible. Jude Starnes, the one, the only, the GOAT. What can I say, man? This?
Speaker 2:guy's incredible, jude Starnes. The one, the only, the GOAT. What can I say, man? Trying my best, trying to stay awake right now, but we're going to get hyped up for this episode. We're going to get jinked up. Bring you the best you already know. Jinked up all the way, man, If you don't know what jink means it's just another word for hype.
Speaker 1:Let us know you're jinked up to be in our presence, man, because we're we're pretty damn cool people outside of outside of doing the podcast.
Speaker 2:I'd like to think some people would say, some people would probably not say and if you disagree, that's your own problem.
Speaker 1:You're missing out. Yeah, I don't really care, sucks to suck. One thing that you guys need to do, as well as liking and subscribing to our video and our YouTube channel, is to look right there. There's going to be our Instagram. That pops up there. It's at outside the octagon pod underscore. Go give that a follow if you don't mind. That's where we're going to be posting podcast updates. Post our thumbnails there. Let you know a new video. Drop the link on our story. There's a link in the bio for you guys to access episodes all over the place. Wherever we have our episodes, just go give our instagram a follow. Go check it out. Yeah, and one thing that jude definitely said that we can agree on and I certainly agree upon it jude prouder pickles incredible pickles. Incredible brand. Incredible owner, I must know miranda maverick Pryler Pickles Incredible pickles.
Speaker 2:Incredible brand, incredible owner I must know. Miranda Maverick, very cool person and I'm not even going to lie to you, man, not a big pickle guy myself, but I just can't keep these pickles out my mouth. No ditty. And you know the spicy barbecue probably the best flavor I've had yet, for sure that's the one I would recommend. We're going to get you all video out soon trying all of them, but yeah, that's definitely one of them.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I mean, spicy barbecue is incredible. Uh, we got the, uh, the slices like for on hamburgers and stuff like that. Did you get Spears?
Speaker 2:So yeah, we had, we had got Spears, but I'm just more of a Spear guy. I don't really use pickles on my hamburgers and stuff personally.
Speaker 1:I got to be in a mood for it, or I got to really like the pickle. That's spicy barbecue boy.
Speaker 2:I feel like that would go on a burger or go good with, or like a chicken sandwich or something.
Speaker 1:That'd probably be really good on a chicken sandwich Like a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich.
Speaker 2:Yeah, because I mean this is a little off topic, but we started marinating our chicken and pickle juice and it's really good.
Speaker 1:So I feel like dude and they sell just pickle juice. You can order the Miranda Maverick pickle juice and do that.
Speaker 2:And marinate the chicken and pickle juice. So y'all guys need to try that. Use code OTO10. As always, it's going to be in the description, probably right there too on max holloway, it'll pop up prowlerpicklescom oto10.
Speaker 1:Is that code to use a checkout? Just type it in right there, right, whenever you're going to check out on promo codes, I believe or apply codes, it's uh, something like that apply it, click the arrow to check it in there. When you get that, you'll get your 10 off and you'll get the best pickles you ever had. Yes, sir, time to get rid of those old store-bought and mid picklesickles, those little tiny pickles.
Speaker 2:Man Get the biggest, most juiciest and delicious pickles. That's all that needs to be said.
Speaker 1:No, ditty man, no ditty no ditty, but there's something we got to start off here, just because it's kind of going to be first in order for what we're going to be talking about. I'm such a Maya of being out. Hope he's okay, Hope he doesn't retire. I know that's something that was kind of thrown around out there. Hopefully that doesn't happen. He was an exciting fighter. I hope he's able to recover. He's had a pretty tough time since the COVID-19 stuff going on with him. He's had a pretty tough time since the COVID-19 stuff going on with him. He's out against Bobby Knuckles, Robert Whitaker, and I wish I could have seen that fight, the replacement fight, though this guy's undefeated against guys not named Hamza Chemaev, which means he's still up there. I mean he's still got a chance. I believe he's still up there. I mean he's still got a chance. I believe he's got a chance. Now, Robert Whitaker, great fighter. Hard to really diss the guy, you know. I mean I don't know if you agree with that or not, Jude, I think it's hard to disrespect Robert Whitaker.
Speaker 2:I love Bobby Knuckles man.
Speaker 1:I think this fight could go either way. I think I got Robert Whitaker winning it, though just because Iqram does not have quite the experience.
Speaker 2:No, I definitely agree, but I don't know that I would want to touch this fight. Personally looking, I didn't even realize this, but he's on a seven fight win streak and I did not even realize that he's a beast. He's been a now, not all those. He's only got three wins in the ufc, so that is one thing. That was like uh, kind of like minor local area stuff, but I mean, like you said, he's only lost to hamzat and he's kind of been a beast, like you said. But bobby knuckles, he's made a career out of this thing and he's very experienced. It's hard to pick against Bobby Knuckles. He's such a consistent fighter. He's really consistent in every fight. He's going to fight behind his jab really well every single night he's out there.
Speaker 1:Right, yeah, I mean I totally agree. We've seen it with the decision win against Paul Acosta in his most recent outing. I think I gotta go robert whittaker here, and the only reason I'm not saying ikram is just because he does not have the ufc fight experience yet. And fighting a guy that's so high up in the ranks on a main event, on a five round fight, it's not really what you expect to go in on short notice on a guy that probably wouldn't have a five round fight for the next year or two.
Speaker 2:I know this fight is before, but I just wanted to touch down on this. Who do you have in the Sergio Pailievich? I'm probably pronouncing that completely wrong Alexander Volkov fight? Definitely butchered both those names. Not very great at names, but I was just wondering what's your take Me personally, I think that Sergio or Sergi, however you say his name Sergei.
Speaker 2:No, did he? No. I think that he's going to be an incredible fighter in the future. He's only 32 years old. I think he's entering his prime. I think he's going to be a dangerous opponent for the heavyweight division. He is the favorite and I believe that that is for a good reason that he will win that fight, bro.
Speaker 1:He's block brock lesnar maxing right now, though have you seen the pictures of him at weigh-ins? No, but I've been seeing him do like crazy fly hold up, bro, let me, let me try to find he's been moving like crazy, though like he looks so improved.
Speaker 2:Um, who had crap? I forgot what I was saying. It might have been what you're talking about, but yeah, he's been doing like crazy flying knees. Oh yeah, look what Tom Aspinall created. Yeah.
Speaker 1:And he's like, he's like Brock Lesnar. Hold up, man, I got to get up there.
Speaker 2:I got to get up close and personal.
Speaker 1:That dude is like literally Brock Lesnar. Maxing right now is what I saw somebody refer to it as on Instagram and I totally got to agree with that.
Speaker 2:I definitely agree, but I also think that he's going to beat the shit out of Volkov.
Speaker 2:I agree, I could definitely see that happening. I think that he's probably one of the more dangerous heavyweights up and coming and you know how that heavyweight title changes very often. That happening, I think that he's probably the most one of the more dangerous heavyweights up and coming and you know how that heavyweight title changes very often, so yeah, I mean heavyweight's an interesting division, especially whenever you got, for the first time in history, an interim champion defending his interim belt.
Speaker 2:That's so stupid. That's so stupid. Now, I think it's stupid on Jon Jones' part and I'm a Jon Jones fan and it's not Jon Jones' fault that they won't take the title from him. But he refuses to fight the interim champion and they won't take the title from him. They just let him keep the title. But the heavyweight division, historically, and light heavyweights, is a division that's never really been conquered and ran by anybody other than john jones. But john jones has to fight more often. He's got to fight the people we want. Nobody wants to see him fight stipe. If you want to see him fight stipe, dude, go to get off the pocket man, go to sleep, man, because, like dude, stipe is so old bro he's so old.
Speaker 1:The last time I saw anything a stipe bro. He was walking into a ufc fight and he was literally like hunched over and it's no offense to steep a but like, do you really think that you can go out there and compete with arguably the greatest ufc fighter or arguably the greatest fighter in general of all time?
Speaker 2:yeah, like he was great, but mike tyson. Mike tyson's not as great as he used to be. Nobody's going to stay great for that long. I mean, once you get to 40 years old, it's probably time to hang it up, and I believe he's 42 now. 42, I believe At 44 is a max. Nobody really is. You shouldn't even really be competing past 40, in my opinion, but it's just an opinion, I guess.
Speaker 1:I I don't think. I think volkanovsky is going to fight till he's 80, though personally like he's going to come in on short notice against a freaking robot bro at ufc a thousand.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah he, definitely he's the same person, love him.
Speaker 1:No, I love alexander volkanovsky and the walkouts.
Speaker 1:That's, that's a perfect lead and what we was going to talk about next too how so alex pareda and jiri oh yeah, we got to talk about one more before we get to that one. This is what I want to say real fast. Okay, michael venom page. Ian machado gary we touched on it very lightly, very shortly in one of our previous episodes. I kind of know how you lean on the fight or how you did lean. I don't know if your opinion changed. I got Michael Venom Page straight up and I'll explain why, after we hear juice, I personally like Ian Gary.
Speaker 2:I think he's the more well-rounded fighter and he's got the length to compete with Michael Venom Page, even though most people that beat him are usually shorter guys that get inside. So we'll see how that works. But it's hard to bet against ian gary when he's never been beaten yet and I think ian gary's the future of the sport as much as I don't like the cuck, but you know he's a good fighter I mean yeah, it's undeniable, like no matter how you look at the guy, ian Gary.
Speaker 2:Should be a good fight, though for sure he's a good fighter.
Speaker 1:It's going to be an interesting bout.
Speaker 2:I think Ian Gary is a little better than Michael Venom Page was at this age. You know what I'm saying. Fair, that's a fair assessment. I think that it's going to be a really good fight because Michael Venom Page is probably slightly better at the point in his career he's at. So I think it's a really good fight for Ian Gary and Michael Venom Page because if Michael Venom Page wins this, it proves that he probably deserves a title shot before he's too old. He deserves one in the very near future. And if Ian Gary wins this, it's like hey, yeah, this dude's really ready for a title shot, he's ready to run the division.
Speaker 1:I think next title shot's got to be shavcott for the welterweight division. I mean, there's a lot yeah, there is quite a few guys at welterweight that need it. First of all, balal muhammad needed it. Balal, like he's been begging hard, bro.
Speaker 2:He's been dying for another shot in that bad boy by decision.
Speaker 1:We all know yeah I mean balal is gonna 50, 45 of him. I mean he said he had a dream about this bro.
Speaker 2:He had a dream man, and he's going to do it. It's going to come true.
Speaker 1:I think so. But I mean I got Michael Venom Page and the reason I have him is I think he's at a better point in his career right now. Kind of like Jude was saying, I think he's at a better point in his career right now versus where he and Gary is. And Gary's still a young guy, Got experience, has plenty of experience. I'm not knocking him for that. He's probably a little bit more inside the prime or easing into the prime rather than on Michael Venom Page's side, easing out of it. I'm almost talking myself out of my pick right now, but I refuse. I stand on business here.
Speaker 1:I think he can go either way. I mean, I just got to go Michael Venom Page just because I think he's just got a better chance For whatever reason. That's how I feel about this fight.
Speaker 2:I mean, I'm not bashing your pick. Like I said, I think that this is like one of the best fights that a matchmaker's made in a minute. Like I said, for the reason I've already been over, it's a really good matchup, I believe. Now I think it's time. Oh, for that vol volkanovsky type I come from the saviors of two main events.
Speaker 1:The second time they're gonna fight. The second time it's gonna be for a title. The first time it got stopped slightly early. I think it still would have ended up being a finish in perea's favor. Alex perea versus probably my favorite fighter and you've heard me say this before jiri prahashka. Oh my god man, I mean short notice. This is, this is where both of these guys kind of feed. When they step into fights like this, they, they're ready. Second of all, jury is active right now, more active than what we typically would see out of jury. So obviously I'm loving that. I hate that McGregor's out. First of all. I'm upset about that. He may return at some further point.
Speaker 1:I don't even know if it's worth it at this point to tell you the truth, but Jiri versus Alex Perea is going to be and we said this about UFC 300, this is going to be a bloodbath. Somebody's going to get cut, somebody's going to bleed, somebody's getting knocked out for sure. Oh, somebody is 100% getting knocked out, and this may sound crazy to some. Some might disagree, and I love Alex Perea too. I love both of these guys.
Speaker 1:It's hard for me to pick either one. I think I'm going to be quite sad either way the tables turn. You know, I'm going to be happy if it goes one way, either way, and I'm going to be sad if it goes either way. But and new Jiri Brahaska is going to be the new lightweight champion of the world. I think, I strongly believe that. I just I don't know why. It's Jiri's time. It's time for his reign at the light heavyweight division. I mean, you know how he is. We talked about it in the 300 predictions episode. He's got such a long reach. He comes from such weird angles that it's very hard to adapt to. Perez fought him once, but the fight didn't go very long, yeah so I think I think those angles are still going to be hard to figure out.
Speaker 1:It's and even if you fought the guy before, it's still got to be hard because even if you fought him, you still had a fight between that and you had to prepare a whole different way. It's hard to continue to prepare for somebody that's throwing from down here yeah, and I definitely agree.
Speaker 2:But one thing that you do have to take into account like I went back and I watched a lot of jerry's fights and stuff and I know he gets a lot of knockouts, but for a guy to get so many knockouts, he actually starts very, very cold, very slow and most of his fights like I'm not saying the whole first round is out, but like the first two minutes he's very cold, very cold and we know how perea fights. It doesn't take but 30 seconds and he can get the finish. I mean, he's about like me, you know, in certain areas and uh so, but I don't know if that's what you meant, but hey, take it how you will.
Speaker 2:But I'm more excited for the stare down actually than the fight, to be quite honest.
Speaker 1:If you've never seen, like the memes or anything of that moment. Bro, it's incredible bro.
Speaker 2:You've seen the one that always flops in my eye. That's like POV I give bro the razor and he comes out with the full hair and face still, and it's the stare down Dude. I love that one, bro. But no, I think my take on that fight is, like I said, more excited to watch the stare down, but I think it's going to be an incredible fight. But I got to go. Alex Pere peret it's hard to be a good guy twice. I'm not saying jury won't win. You've been kind of hotter on these main events than me, right, uh, lately. So who knows? But I really like alex peret again. Alex peret, I think, is the number one pound for pound fighter in the ufc. I think he's gonna move up the heavyweight. He's collecting these belts like infinity stones and he's Thanos man. He's just unstoppable right now. He's a very scary dude to fight.
Speaker 1:That's the thing, though, For Perea. It's hard to pick against him.
Speaker 1:This fight could go either way. I'm not even solidifying that pick. I'll post my picks before 303, obviously, like we always do. You know, I post mine, jude post his. We'll see how I'm feeling that day. So I mean, don't get me wrong listen to our podcast, take what we say on the episodes, but this is one of those fights where it's like gonna be like, okay, day of like, this is who I got, and I might even post on instagram story and change during the walkouts, because I've done that before, like for sean o'malley versus algia. I had algia and then I seen o'malley walk out and I was like o'malley by knockout bang.
Speaker 2:I definitely could see that it's gonna be an awesome fight for sure. There's no doubt about it. I'm pretty hyped. I was I'm honestly, probably more excited to see perea versus jiri, part two, than to see um mcgregor chandler, because I mean, mcgregor and chandler they're two incredible athletes and they're they're two very good fighters, but they're almost has-beens at this point. They took two years break and everything else. I I feel bad for Michael Chandler. It really sucks. And McGregor, I mean I just don't know that he's ever coming back. I love McGregor, I love the McGregor pressers, but I don't think. I think he's gone, yeah.
Speaker 1:Damn why you had to say it like that bro man, I had to make it sad.
Speaker 2:We can make this like a, a sad clip. We can add like some tears to my face, like put the little sad sound you know you know what you're about to have, though uh, a clown mask.
Speaker 1:After the, you make some more wrong pics bro oh yeah, you've been missing bro.
Speaker 2:You've been missing bro. I mean, we've been pretty. Even you just got one or two. You've been getting the main. I get you on the main cards mostly a lot of times I make a mistake on like. I'll make a pick on here, and then I'll make a mistake on the instagram post, not paying attention, and I'll just pick the wrong one. That's probably gonna cost me a cat, a clown mask at some point, man, but yeah, we're gonna start that.
Speaker 1:For sure. I might go to party city tomorrow or something and just go grab one. They can't be that expensive and I get paid.
Speaker 2:So I'll probably get one though.
Speaker 1:I really want to get that UFC replica belt for one of us to wear the champion versus the clown bro for the entire episode. Even with a guest, though, we gotta hold it up bro, like if Even with a guest though we got to hold it up bro. If we have a guest episode the next week, whoever's the loser has to wear the clown mask. You can't back out.
Speaker 2:I mean I'm down.
Speaker 1:All right, Ben Shake on it.
Speaker 2:Right now I'm not going to lose every single one of them, man. I hate to lose personally, and if I keep losing, we'll have to be filming our own MMA fight. Okay buddy. Okay, buddy.
Speaker 1:I thought I started hitting the little. What did they used to call that?
Speaker 2:Now watch me win.
Speaker 1:No, the little where you I don't even know how to do it.
Speaker 2:Oh, the Flossing, Flossing yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Bro, I can. How to do it? Oh, the flossing, flossing, yeah, yeah, I can't dance to save my life.
Speaker 1:Bro, I was gonna say you was gonna hit the kwan. I do be like bro. Sometimes I just gotta bust out a nene real quick, like if I'm in public, like damn or a p, hit the kwan. I need to let, I need to let people know I need to hit.
Speaker 2:I can hit that nene like that bro, like what's your thoughts on uh, on the brian ortega, diego lopez, that's gonna be an interesting fight there's. There's three fights to me that's worth it. On this card, man, and I'll talk about the next one after brian ortega well, no, they have. And gary's on that card. Yeah, yes, four, four good fights, I think I got Diego.
Speaker 2:You got Diego. It's hard for me to go against Diego, but like Brian Ortega, he's only got three losses and he gets so much hate and everything. But I mean, dude, he came out what he got the win on like 30 freaking like no, he didn't get 30 seconds, he went to the second round, huh. But he controlled the fight the whole entire time and then got a submission, like he made it look easy, barely even got punched. Man, I like brian ortega. I think he's an awesome person and I think I like to see guys battle adversity and come back from that. And brian ortegas did just that and he's only got three losses. But can't really hate on diego lopez's mullet either. I don't know why they always got to put like two good guys against each other, like give us some good guys against some people we hate yeah, like low-key bro, like Max Holloway is one of my favorite, probably is my favorite fighter ever.
Speaker 1:It's Max and Jerry are probably like my in my top three. For sure Max is number one, has been for a while. But I love Justin Gaethje too, and to see gaethje go down like that, like I almost had, like like it was dope that max holloway won by that that way, that that finish was incredible, don't get me wrong. But after, like, after it, like kind of the hangover came down from like me being like, oh my god, max holloway just won one second left in the fifth round, like absolutely insane finish. Then I was like justin gates, you just got like absolutely like killed, murdered, like, because I literally like if you follow me on instagram, you've seen it.
Speaker 1:I posted the video. In that video I'm videoing myself, like I turned the camera around after the knockout. I video myself and I'm like screaming. I'm like, yeah, let's go like you know, like let letting emotions flow. And then jude calls me and I declined the first call, stopped the video run outside, called jude back and jude's like dude, I think gaethje's dead. And I was like, damn, you right bro, that was justin gaethje that just got knocked out, like it didn't even settle in for me, like I almost had the same reaction as cormier to that fight. Have you seen the?
Speaker 1:cormier yeah, the cormier reaction's crazy but he literally like, had tears in his eyes, bro, like because it's a hard game, bro, and like and like you'll hear brad tate say next week I mean, I can't choose my favorite fighter. Can you choose your favorite finger?
Speaker 2:yeah, man and it's just like. But like what? There's some fighters that are just pieces of crap, like Colby Covington, and people just don't like them, but they always want to give us two good guys. I mean, I guess you can't avoid it. It just sucks. We need more bad fighters. As much as we love to hate them, we need more bad fighters out there. They make the sport interesting. Colby Covington, I thank you for being a piece of crap. I, colby Covington, I thank you for being a piece of crap, you know. So I just hate that. Like it's two super good guys. Like who do I cheer for Alex, perea or Jiri? Like they're two great guys.
Speaker 1:They don't even really like do anything like smack talk-wise. Like Perea has like a four-word vocabulary. It's uh, uh, uh, chama, chama, and that's it. Like he literally has four words. Yes, I love it, I love it, but I mean, the.
Speaker 2:The other fight, though, on that 303 cord. This is we're just on. It is anthony smith, carl's oosberg, olberg I bet I can't read.
Speaker 1:I like Anthony Smith, but Carlos Oldberg is just on an incredible run right now. I think Oldberg's going to knock him out.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I don't know off the top of my head who he beat, so I'm trying to go back and look at the moment. Like I said, we're all uncut. I didn't realize that he was on the Contender Series man. He is on a crazy run, bro, and there's a lot of them by knockout yeah he's on a ridiculous run right now. I like Anthony Smith so much.
Speaker 1:I do too, Anthony CT.
Speaker 2:Smith hate. I just love Anthony CT Smith man. He's an awesome person. I want to see him win the belt. So bad, that's like Bahamut.
Speaker 1:I just win the belt. So bad that's like ball muhammad, I just want him to win the belt.
Speaker 2:So bad for some bad bro like I'll probably tear up if belong wins, dude, if anthony smith wins, I'm definitely tearing up. I'm gonna put the mortgage on anthony smith if he ever fights for a title. I promise you. But the thing is he? Can win, like he can win oh, he can do it.
Speaker 1:No doubt he's never not. He's one of those wild card fighters like kevin allen.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I love you. How can you not love a fighter like that? You hate them some nights and you love them other nights, so that's the name of the game.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I'm like in a sense I mean, but I think we covered all we had to cover in this episode. Jude, you got anything?
Speaker 2:else you want to say no, I just want to say Brad Tate episode coming out in the next week.
Speaker 1:You think next Friday, yeah, next.
